We booked with Maria after reading some of the other reviews by travellers and they weren’t wrong!!! She was an absolute gem. Maria provided us with an insight into the local eateries that serve up absolute delicacies and shared her in-depth knowledge of the local history. Even if you’ve been here before, I definitely recommend this as there’s no knowledge like local knowledge. But wait there’s more…. We had three children with us (11 yr, 8yr & 6yr) and Maria made sure that there were adequate food and drink substitutes for them, made sure the history talk wasn’t too over complicated so they could also understand and even had a treasure hunt page for them so they could find historical architecture/sights, which kept them on track. She even provided us a list of local places to visit (food and sightseeing) after our tour finished. Her contact with us prior was outstanding. It was worth every dollar, or should I say euro. You have to do this!!!!!

It was a great tour. Maria is personable, knowledgeable, and very entertaining. We learned a lot about Valencia, its history and local food and drink. It was a private tour that was small and personalized. She did a great job. We would highly recommend this tour and Maria.

We chose Maria because of reviews posted by travellers who have already met her and we were not disappointed. I made a mistake about when our tour was due to start and Maria graciously rearranged so that we could meet her later on the same day. The places that Maria took my husband and I for food were welcoming and the food was delicious, my favourite was the restaurant Tasca Angel. The best sardines I’ve ever tasted! Best of all is Maria’s personality. She is super friendly and we both found her easy to talk to. She gave us lots of information about the culture and cultural hot spots around the centre of Valencia. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Maria. You put the icing on the cake of our anniversary celebrations.

Wir haben eine Rundgangsführung mit Maria gebucht. Diese fühlte sich an wie ein angenehmer Spaziergang mit einer alten Freundin. Maria hat eine ganz offene warme Art die einen direkt für sich gewinnt. Sie hat es geschafft in einem auf uns angestimmten Tempo (einer von uns ist nicht gut zu Fuß) nicht nur die wichtigsten Merkmale der Stadt zu zeigen sondern auch die Ecken, die man selber als Tourist nie findet. Wir haben auch Neues zur Ess- und Trinkkultur gelernt und sogar das lokale Erfrischungsgetränk Horchata gekostet. Es war eine sehr gelungene Tour, dank Maria.

Maria is definitely the guide to be chosen for a food tour in Valencia. Her background knowledge about history and architecture knocked me off. And beside that her excellent choose of places to go to her pick of tapas and wines were pitch perfect. No rush throughout the evening with a relaxing woman with English on a native speaking quality.
